For those of you that don't know or haven't downloaded heard of the community binding app Nextdoor, it's an social network app that brings communities to together. It's been around for a while now and some agents have been using it to generate leads, connect with buyers and build trust. People are using Nextdoor to communicate with one another (which is good if your an apprised agent that likes referrals) and dishing out tips on the neighborhood to stay safe and informed. Sarah Leary, co-founder of Nextdoor, said that:

“Countless real estate agents” have recognized Nextdoor as a “great way to build real authentic connections with neighbors in specific communities.”

Nextdoor just announced that they will be adding a Real Estate Section in their app for local home hunters to find their next space! The feature is only available in select markets currently. The'll be rolling out to more markets in the coming months as they run through testing and updates to make the app more streamline. The new section offers you the opportunity to see how homes are selling in your neighborhood.

Other perks:

  • Once created, your listing is updated in the community user newsfeed.
  • You can pay a small fee to show up as the sponsored listing agent for your community.

Also, you can click on a listing to see details about the property for sale. Some pages will have a module to the right showcasing the local community real estate listing agent. It's one of the paid products real estate agents can purchase to increase their lead generation. It makes it easy for members to reach out to a listing agent and learn more about some of the agents who sell homes in their local community.

The initial run for the new section will only be available in a limited number of areas to start. Plans to expand into additional markets are set to launch over the course of 2017.

Find out more about getting sponsored in your community by visiting their page. If you are a real estate agent or broker who's interested, they can visit the Nextdoor and signup.
